Wine caves are subterranean structures for the storage and aging of wine. They are an integral component of the wine industry world wide. The design and construction of wine caves represents a unique application of underground construction techniques.

The storage of wine underground offers the benefits of energy efficiency and optimum use of limited land area. Wine caves naturally provide both high humidity and cool temperatures; key to the storage and aging of wine.

The Zeit Der Kirschen is the German translation of the French song “Le Temps des Cerises” – The Time of the Cherries” – which is a homage to the Parisian Communes during the fall of Napolean III during 1870.

Six wine regions have joined a coalition set up to protect geographical place names.

The six signatories to the Joint Declaration to Protect Wine Place Names & Origin include Sonoma County and Paso Robles from California and the Chianti Classico region in Italy. The other regions to join up are Tokaj in Hungary and two regions in Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.

In our opinion there is no finer venue to sample the best Pinot Noir than at this event over looking the Pacific Ocean.

There are receptions, Winemaker Dinners, Seminars , and a seaside tasting that cannot be equalled.
